On July 25, at about 9:36 a.m.
Officers responded to a radio call for service in the 2200 block of Stewart Street regarding a vandalism that just occurred. Officers determined the suspect was walking through the victim’s property from an alley to the street. For unknown reasons, the suspect began kicking at a wood gate causing it to fall off the hinges. The suspect walked off. Officers located the suspect at the corner of Pico Blvd and Stewart St. The suspect was yelling at officers and refused to comply. The suspect was ultimately taken into custody. Scott Paul Destafano, 52, homeless was issued a citation for vandalism.
