By sponsoring this year’s 28th Annual 5K Hunger Walk on October 21st, local companies can join their neighbors in helping to sustain the food assistance programs of the more than 65 local agencies that receive Westside Food Bank’s food. All are welcome to attend, and businesses, schools and faith communities are encouraged to form walking teams. Businesses that sponsor the Hunger Walk will enjoy a variety of opportunities to let Westside residents know that they care about the hungry, homeless and vulnerable in our community. Engage in a little friendly industry-wide competition, get your business name and logo in front of 15,000 local households that receive a Hunger Walk postcard in the mail, on the 600 event t-shirts, and enjoy coverage on the event’s registration page and social media platforms.
Despite the sprawl of LA County, residents of Santa Monica—and the Westside of LA in general—strive in many ways to maintain a small-town feel. We’re out and about: going to Farmers’ Markets all days of the week, participating in our children’s school projects, and perhaps most importantly, getting involved in causes we care about. With the help of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce’s “Buy Local” campaign, consumers today are also making an effort to spend their dollars consciously. Residents actively support local businesses – especially those whose community impact they are aware of and can appreciate. On October 21st, nearly 600 people from all over West LA will walk along the Santa Monica beach path with Westside Food Bank to raise funds and build awareness about hunger in our community at the 28th Annual 5K Hunger Walk. Businesses that join in on this fun will be able to share in the experience with their neighbors and customers in meaningful and lasting ways.
The walk will take place on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 12pm at Ocean View Park, 2701 Barnard Way, Santa Monica, 90405 and includes Entertainment, a Family Fun Zone, Awards, Prizes and a Beach Bash BBQ After Party.
