President Donald Trump will pass through the Santa Monica airport on Tuesday as part of a multi-city fundraising trip to the West Coast.
“The President of the United States is expected to use the Santa Monica Municipal Airport on Tuesday, September 17, 2019,” said an alert by the city of Santa Monica. “In preparation for his visit, we anticipate military helicopter activity at and around SMO on Monday, September 16 and Tuesday, September 17. Airport staff will keep you informed if any additional details emerge.”
Trump is expected to host a lunch in the San Jose bay area on Tuesday with tickets priced at up to $100,000. His plans call for afternoon events in Los Angeles and San Diego.
The Los Angeles event will be held in Beverly Hills, the same city he visited in April.
During his April trip, Trump also landed at SMO. The presidential motorcade passed through the city causing temporary traffic disruptions and attracted a variety of spectators. This will be the President's third trip through the local airport. While his first drew large protests to the airport area, the second was met with less than 20 people on the street.
