Santa Monica College is looking for applicants to serve on the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee that oversees Measures U, S and AA that fund major improvement projects at the college.
Representatives of a taxpayers' organization and local business communities of Santa Monica and Malibu are preferred to fill the vacancies. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, must not be a college employee, official, vendor, contractor or consultant to the college.
Some of the projects funded by the bonds include replacement buildings, seismic retrofitting and safety and technology upgrades.
The SMC Board of Trustees will review all applications and make the final appointments. Applications are available by calling (310) 434-4402 or by visiting www.smc.edu. The deadline to apply is Sept. 16.
