Dear Editor,
Recently we arrived at LAX from New York on a 5 hour trans Continental flight and were stunned at what passes for ground transportation at such a world class destination? It was a disaster!
Arriving at terminal 7 United I knew that there was a taxi stand just outside baggage.
It’s gone.
Instead somewhere near terminal 6? The pillar is painted green. Somehow that is supposed to denote that this is where travelers from the world over can catch a ride to a remote state of the art facility where the taxis are … They can’t.
Instead they are supposed to catch a bus to some remote location. The two green buses that came our way were already full and they just kept going as we stood with a gaggle of other tired and confused frustrated travelers.
Because we had booked a reservation at The June Hotel at Lincoln and Manchester, we thought we would just take a taxi there and check in, freshen up and get something to eat and catch a sunset.
Oh boy were we wrong?
Because there were no taxi stands anymore at LAX?
Instead we hopped on board a rental car bus to rent a car....wrong! There were no less than 50 travelers from the world over standing at the well recognized rental counter staffed by just three harried agents.
Need I tell you what that looked like?
After nearly two hours after landing , and paying over $400 more for a two mile ride to the hotel, we finally got to the hotel and checked in!
Los Angeles, what have you done?!
