Labor Day is supposed to be a national holiday. Why are so many people who work and do the real labor expected to work that day? Stores are open and advertising their "Labor Day Sales". Who keeps these stores in business? The low-wage workers, of course!! The management personnel allow themselves to take the holiday off, while the workers (without whom the businesses couldn't thrive) have to work hard to accommodate the shoppers!
Please, honor the workers who keep the gas stations, the grocery stores, the ice cream parlors, the retail shops open on what should be a holiday for all!! Business owners: If you feel you have to stay open on Labor Day, please pay your workers double pay. Shoppers: Please tip generously and sincerely say "Thank you! for your ongoing hard work!"
