Dear Holds,
Hey, how are you? It’s been awhile. I know I said I was going to be out of town but as it turns out I've been in Santa Monica the entire time and… I’ve met a new Library collection: Lucky Day.
Holds, I know you're feeling blindsided right now. I know you have questions.
What does the Lucky Day collection have that you don’t?
You both have the same high demand books and DVDs that are available to Santa Monica Public Library cardholders. But there’s no way to reserve Lucky Day items. The collection is available on a first come, first served basis. No waiting for the latest film or that popular book. If the item is on Lucky’s shelves that day, I don’t have to wait.
Holds, I know you mean well, but you’re always making me wait!
Where is the Lucky Day collection?
Lucky Day lives at the Fairview, Montana Avenue, Ocean Park, and Pico branch libraries.
Will we see each other again?
Of course, we will. I still need you! You’re so reliable, always providing me with what I’ve requested. And those sweet little emails you send, the ones letting me know when you have something waiting for me at the Library, never fail to put a smile on my face.
However, items from the Lucky Day collection do have their limitations:
- No renewals
- Limited to 3 books and 3 DVDs at a time
- Books are loaned for 2 weeks
- DVDs are loaned for 1 week
Holds, I hope we can make this work. Please know that I have room on my shelves and in my heart for you both. And since we haven’t seen each other in a while, let’s get together soon. We’ll cozy up during one of these weekends. Have a hot toddy or three in front of the fire. When? Well, just as soon as you have that new flick or page-turner ready for me.
Unless, of course, I can find it on Lucky’s shelves first.
Love,
