The Feast of Saint Monica

St. Monica:  St. Monica’s Catholic Church held a celebration of the city’s namesake recognizing the Feast of Saint Monica on Aug. 27. The area was first named after Saint Monica in the 1700s when a catholic priest traveling through the area named a local stream "the tears of Saint Monica." The local Catholic community, including longtime parishioner Rick Caruso, recognizes the day every year.
