A small earthquake served as a Memorial Day wake-up call for many residents.
According to the United Stages Geological Survey (USGS), the 3.0 quake was centered about 6 miles off the Santa Monica/Malibu coast at a depth of about 6 miles.
Residents reported feeling weak tremors from about Thousand Oaks to Inglewood at about 7 a.m.
The quake was the second in the region. According to the USGS system, another earthquake of similar size was felt in Anaheim about eight hours earlier.
