Though the Santa Monica area has recovered from a historical storm in the first days of February, another round of rain is set to inundate the city once more. According to a National Weather Service (NWS) forecast discussion for the Los Angeles area, a Pacific storm will evolve over the weekend, with the wettest period scheduled for Sunday through Monday.
The NWS states that it will rain "almost all day long" on Monday, and that downpours could continue all the way through Wednesday morning. According to a report by AccuWeather meteorologist Elizabeth Danco, rainfall amounts can total 1-2 inches in the Los Angeles area, with the stretch of wet weather potentially creating travel disruptions in the air and on the ground.
Due in large part to the wild storm between Feb. 5-6, Santa Monica’s rainfall totals in February stand at 8.97 inches, according to historical weather database Weather Underground.
