A man was arrested Thursday night after firing a gun into a residential building.
Officers were called to the area of Michigan and 12th Street at about 8 p.m. on Thursday after witnesses saw a man exit his apartment and fire a gun into a neighboring unit.
SMPD’s Crisis Negotiation Team responded alongside SWAT officers and streets were closed in the immediate area.
After about two hours of negotiation, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody. No injuries were reported at the time of the initial shot.
