Officers were flagged down in the area of Pico and 19th Street by a woman who had been attacked by a former boyfriend. The victim was in a dating relationship with the suspect and earlier in the day, he had come to her residence and demanded he be let inside. The victim refused and told the suspect she was calling the police. The suspect took scissors out of his pocket and threatened to kill the both of them. He then kicked in the front door and grabbed her. The suspect grabbed her and tried to prevent her from screaming. The suspect bit her. The victim was able to get out of the house where she flagged down the police. Officers were able to locate the suspect in the area and took him into custody. Michael Nathaniel Hines, 27, homeless, was arrested for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse, burglary, criminal threats and grand theft automobile. Bail was set at $50,000.
