MID-CITY — A 79-year-old woman was run over and dragged while visiting a medical plaza on Santa Monica Boulevard Monday afternoon, the driver fleeing the scene, failing to render aid, police said.
Santa Monica investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver, who was described as a white male in his 60s with salt and pepper hair and a goatee. Witnesses told officers that the suspect was driving a late model Infiniti or Lexus sport utility vehicle, light gray or silver in color.
The accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. in the 2100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard in a private driveway of Saint John’s Health Center. Officers said the victim tripped and was run over by the suspect, who continued through a parking structure and out of sight.
The victim is currently in critical condition at a local hospital.
