Incident of the day
On Jan. 17 at approximately 5 a.m., officers observed a bicyclist swerving southbound against northbound traffic on 3rd Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop after a pedestrian entering 3rd Street from the sidewalk was visibly endangered.
Upon contact, the subject identified himself as Michael Kelly, 45. When asked to provide proper identification, Kelly produced an EBT card with no photo identification. He appeared to be concealing contents inside the wallet and officers accordingly requested to search his wallet.
Officers arrested Kelly for becoming physically resistant to the investigation. Once searched, he was found to be in possession of a stolen driver's license and credit card.
Kelly was arrested and booked for misappropriation of property and for the vehicle code violation for driving against traffic. His bail was set at $10,000.
