On August 7, at approximately 12:50 p.m.
Officers responded to a robbery in the area of 4th and Santa Monica Blvd. As the victim was waiting for the traffic signal, she felt someone touch her right hip. She thought it was her friends who she was with. When the victim turned to tell her friends to stop it, she noticed it was not her friends and someone else holding her phone. She asked for her phone back to which the suspect refused and demanded her money. The suspect became angry with the victim and threw her phone into the intersection. The suspect raised her hands at the victim to strike her and again demanded money. The victim refused and the suspect struck her multiple times. Witnesses intervened and the suspect fled. Witnesses followed the suspect and directed officers to her location. B.N.A, 35, homeless, was arrested for robbery and vandalism. Bail was set at $50,000.
