A checkpoint set Friday evening on the 2900 block of Wilshire Boulevard snagged seven arrests, police report.
A total of 1,405 vehicles passed through the Santa Monica Police Department's sobriety checkpoint.
Of those, 441 vehicles were screened by police, resulting in 46 field sobriety tests and two arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The checks also picked up three felony arrests — a no-bail warrant, cocaine possession and a weapons possession — and two arrests for possession of marijuana.
Police caught one person driving on a suspended or revoked license, five unlicensed drivers, five vehicle impounds and issued another 14 citations of varying types.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It was conducted by the Traffic Division of the Office of Special Enforcement.
By law, DUI checkpoints must be posted prior to enforcement and a route must be made available for drivers to avoid the checkpoint.
