The Third Street Promenade was taken over Saturday by an annual Día de los Muertos celebration, bringing hundreds of visitors dressed in traditional holiday garb taken from indigenous Mexican and Aztec influence.
The holiday pays tribute to those who have passed on, with various shrines showcased along the Promenade, ranging from family members to celebrities such as the recently passed Los Angeles Dodgers legend Fernando Valenzuela.
Activities included a long line for face painting, musical and dance performances, and various booths selling clothing and other items.
