Back in Santa Monica from her Off-Broadway triumph, Monica Piper performers her hit comedy Not That Jewish, for a limited run, at The Braid where it was originally developed and ran for almost a year. On stage with the passion that has navigated her career to an EMMY Award win, GOLDEN GLOBE nomination, American Comedy Award nomination as one of the top five female comedians in the country, and secured her as one of Showtime Network’s “Comedy All Stars,” Monica Piper brings her authentic humor and autobiographical journey to audiences in Los Angeles. A story of life, a brush with death…love, pain, and Mickey Mantle. Piper shares the moments that shaped her life with the same signature wit found in her writing on Roseanne, Mad About You, and her Emmy Award-winning work on Rugrats. Reminiscent of Billy Crystal’s 700 Sundays with a peppering of Neil Simon’s Lost In Yonkers, Not That Jewish is 85 lightning-fast minutes of funny, moving and inspirational theater.
Not That Jewish opens at 8 p.m. on December 1 and runs at 8 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sundays (added performance at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12) through December 16. The Braid, 2912 Colorado Ave. #102, Santa Monica, CA 90402. Tickets are $35. Reservations: (310) 315-1400 or www.jewishwomenstheatre.org
