The jury trial of Theo Krah concluded after about three weeks and more than 20 testifying witnesses. At about 4:30 p.m. on that day, the jury rendered a verdict of guilty to Count 1 – Murder (2nd Degree). Sentencing is scheduled to take place on Aug. 1, at which time, Krah will be sentenced to the statutorily required 15-to-life in state prison. Krah, a Navy Seal, was arrested in San Diego County in 2016 for the murder of Kris Anderson, a 57-year-old UCLA Extension employee. The two men had an altercation on the Pier with Krah accusing Anderson of taking photos of young women. Police intervened but no charges were filed as a result of the initial encounter. Sometime later, SMPD said the two men had a second altercation on 5th Street that resulted in Anderson’s death.
