Crime Watch is culled from reports provided by the Santa Monica Police Department. These are arrests only. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Officers responded to Nordstrom after a suspect took a hat from the store without paying. Onsite asset protection staff detained the suspect until officers arrived. Steven Mendez of Los Angeles, was arrested for shoplifting and transported to the Santa Monica Jail where he was issued a citation.
