The Woolsey fire is currently zero percent contained and evacuation orders remain in place for the city of Malibu.
Cal Fire took command of the firefighting efforts on Saturday and said numerous structures have been destroyed in the 70,000 acre fire with 3,500 structures still threatened.
According to Cal Fire, firefighting efforts have focused on saving lives and property but crews continue to battle steep terrain, limited access and extreme fire behavior.
So far, the fire response includes 145 engines, six water tenders, ten hand crews, four dozers and a total of 781 individuals on the lines. Numerous firefighting air tankers from throughout the State are flying fire suppression missions as conditions allow.
Evacuation orders are in place for the entire city of Malibu, Bell Canyon, Oak Park, Thousand Oaks, West of Highway 23, Wood ranch and Long Canyon. Evacuation warnings are in place for Simi Valley. Residents are asked to avoid Pacific Coast Highway as it is still an active fire and evacuations are still in place. Mandatory evacuation orders remain in effect for the entire City of Malibu and unincorporated LA County areas of Malibu.
There are road closures on Highway 101 both directions at Valley Circle to Reyes Adobe, 101 offramps at Camarillo Springs. Hwy 1 southbound (PCH) closed as Las Posas Rd., Bell Canyon Rd at Valley Circle Blvd., Borchard at Los Vientos Dr., Lynn Rd. at Reino Rd., Potrero Rd. between Rancho Dos Vientos at S. Lewis Rd., Kanan Rd. between Westlake Bl and Lindero Canyon Rd., Falling Star Ave. at Kanan Rd. and Erbes Rd. at Sara St.
