On Feb. 25 at approximately 8:40 a.m., a city worker was staffing the Senior Center at the 1400 block of Palisades Park and saw the suspect approaching a cordoned-off area.
The worker told the suspect he could not be there and asked him to leave.
As the suspect began walking past the worker, he suddenly struck the worker's face with his elbow and forearm.
The worker followed the suspect to the pier, where Santa Monica police officers detained him.
The suspect was then taken into custody and booked at the Santa Monica jail.
Jacob Charles Adams, 33, homeless, had bail set at $20,000.
