Local teens can get up to two hours of volunteer credit between April 7 and April 30 just by submitting their photographs of Santa Monica.
The Santa Monica Public Library wants to see the bay city through the eyes of teens and are encouraging youth to take photos that mean something to them.
In addition to the volunteer credit, photos submitted may be added and featured in the library's new local history website SHARE Santa Monica.
The credit is available to students in grades 8 to 12. Photos must be taken in Santa Monica between April 7 and April 18. No photos of people though.
The submission deadline is April 30. Photos must be submitted via e-mail to reference@smgov.net. Include the first and last name (for volunteer credit only; names will not be published), grade, school, date picture was taken and the location, and include a short description of the pic.
Teens will earn 15 minutes of library volunteer credit for each photo submitted.
Limit eight images per teen (two hours total volunteer credit).
