Former Samohi star Ryan Katz made the first start of his college career for No. 24 Oregon State in a losing effort on Saturday against No. 6 TCU in Irving, Texas.
The sophomore finished the night nine of 25 for 159 yards with two touchdowns. Katz threw for two first-half scores giving OSU a short-lived 14-7 lead in the second quarter.
Katz will lead OSU against Louisville on Sept. 18. The game will be at Corvallis, Ore.
