Santa Monica Daily Press Publisher Ross Furukawa conducts a one on one conversation with Seth Stodderin anticipation of the upcoming election for California State Senator, 26th District.
Seth Stodder decries that "California's economy continues to bleed jobs. We need to restore California's competitiveness and business climate." He says we need to reexamine our regulations, and look at our tax system, highest in the country for personal, sales and business taxes. "Our schools are the flip side of that problem," with employers not finding the pool of educated young people they need. We have the fourth highest unemployment rate in the country, and the highest poverty rate. We need to make sure that every kid, in every neighborhood, has access to a great school with great teachers. We need to reform our school system – we've enshrined mediocrity and built in inequality."
