I suppose that Santa Monica High School's principal and athletic director still haven't given fired head baseball coach Sheldon Philip-Guide a reason for being fired. Neither have they explained their actions to parents or community members who support Philip-Guide.
The reason given to the coach for being fired — "We are going in a different direction" — is not a good enough answer to someone that has worked so hard over three years to improve the baseball program at Samohi.
The Samohi principal and athletic director need to show some character and explain what their reason was for his firing. If it was because a few parents complained then they need to realize they made a mistake (parents should not decide the firing of a high school coach) and rehire him.
