Hmm, let me see here … You have several leaks about confidential hiring considerations, apparently originating from a member of the City Council, in repeated violation of the Brown Act. A Council member calls for an investigation of those leaks to determine who might have been responsible. A couple of Councilmembers vociferously express their “outrage” at such an investigation, citing the great expenses involved and the divisiveness of such an inquiry. Another Councilmember votes with them to stop the investigation. All of those three Councilmembers were part of a “slate,” elected to allegedly rout out corruption in the City Council. I guess the joke is on whoever voted for them.
