Editor:
The City Council's unsafe decision to [consider] remov[ing] part of the runway and other measures to effectively make it difficult for aviators to use the airport is like a property owner tearing out an apartment building's stairs and shutting off the water ("Council votes to chip away at Santa Monica Airport," March 26).
Clearly the council has no genuine regard for the safety of its residents, aviators and those who work at the airport.
