I agree with Marcy Winograd.
The sight of ponies being tied up and going around in circles in the hot sun at the Sunday market is horrendous.
I've spoken to the folks who are in charge many times and have always been told that the ponies take time out and are not unhappy.
In Santa Monica we are blessed with an ocean beach where we can watch all that is beautiful in nature — the seagulls, pelicans and dolphins, too. We can go to Will Rogers State Park and be with the horses in the meadows there.
Hopefully the new petition will put an end to this weekly, very public abusive treatment of these vulnerable, gentle creatures.
