We had an appointment in Santa Monica at 6 a.m. and parked at a meter that requires payment after 9 a.m. When I came back to the car just before 9 the meter would not respond to the coins because of the new parking meter sensors. So my husband had to stand on the street corner when they brought him down from outpatient surgery while I was hunting for another parking spot two blocks away, then we had to wheel him there to get him home.
So, our solution is to do one of the following:
1. Change doctors to those with offices in West Los Angeles, where we live.
2. Use the Big Blue Bus in the future.
3. Never enter Santa Monica again for any purpose.
