Alleged child molester Eric Uller is out of jail and out of a job this week.
According to information from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Uller posted a bond for his $750,000 bail shortly after a court hearing on Nov. 5.
Uller is accused of sexually abusing boys when he was a volunteer at the Santa Monica Police Activities League. He is alleged to have abused the victims between the ages of 12 and 16 years old starting 1986.
Uller, age 50, faces three counts of lewd acts upon a child, two counts of oral copulation of a person under 18 and one count of continuous sexual abuse.
He entered a not guilty plea on Nov. 5 and is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 15
According to court documents, his bail was set at $750,000 and he posted bond to be released from custody.
Uller had been employed with the City of Santa Monica’s Information Technology department. However, city officials said he was no longer a city employee as of this week. No information was available as to whether he was fired or resigned.
City Hall is conducting an internal investigation regarding Uller following accusations that his behavior had been reported in the past. Several community members have said they raised concerns but were not taken seriously. The City’s internal investigation is not part of the criminal case which is being handled by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
If convicted as charged, Uller faces a possible maximum sentence of more than 23 years in state prison.
