Three people were injured early Monday morning when a pickup truck smashed into two cars near downtown Santa Monica.
The incident began at about 6:15 a.m. when the truck hit a vehicle in the westbound lanes of the 10 freeway before the 4th street offramp. The truck then continued up the ramp and hit two more vehicles between 4th and 5th street. No deaths were reported but three people were transported to a nearby hospital.
The freeway exit was closed for several hours while the California Highway Patrol investigated. Roads were reopened at about 2 p.m.
