WILSHIRE BLVD — Police are searching for three men wanted in connection with a robbery in which $300,000 worth of jewelry was stolen, authorities said.
The robbery occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 3 around 5 p.m. in a parking lot in the 2500 block of Wilshire Boulevard, said Sgt. Dave Hunscke with the Santa Monica Police Department.
Two jewelers were about to leave the parking lot in their car when they were approached by three men wearing ski masks and dark clothing. One of the men broke the drivers’ side window of the jewelers’ car and threatened them with a knife while the two other suspects snatched a lap top and a backpack with $300,000 worth of jewelry inside, police said.
The suspects then slashed the car’s tires, took the car keys and fled on foot to a white, 1990 Nissan Maxima that was waiting for them. The suspects were described as males with thin builds, standing around 5-feet, 6-inches tall and 5-feet, 9-inches, all with dark eyes.
