Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will hold a Rally on Friday, July 26 at Santa Monica High School.
The event will be hosted by the Santa Monica Democratic Club as part of their Meet the Candidate Series. Sanders will speak at Samohi’s Memorial Greek Amphitheater on Friday. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with his speech scheduled for 6 p.m.
“Though Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders rose to national prominence during his 2016 presidential campaign, he has been a fierce progressive champion dating back to his active role in the Civil Rights Movement,” said the club in their announcement. “Since then, as Mayor, Congressman, and Senator, Bernie has consistently fought for the agenda that has defined what it means to be a progressive: increasing the minimum wage, single payer healthcare, college affordability, expanding Social Security, reforming Wall Street, implementing a carbon tax, legalizing marijuana, fighting for veterans, and strengthening the middle class.”
Organizers recommend arriving early and expect the event to reach capacity.
Attendees can RSVP to the campaign online at https://act.berniesanders.com/event/event-bernie-sanders/12363/.
The Club will also host Governor Jay Inslee next week at the Pacific Palisades Womens Club (901 Haverford Ave.) on Monday, July 22. Doors open at 4:30 for a 5 p.m. start time.
