On Sept. 22 at about 3:42 p.m.
Santa Monica Fire and Santa Monica Harbor Guards responded to a male in his 30’s seen in the water at the west end of the Santa Monica Pier. Harbor Guards entered the water and performed a water rescue, using their hoist to extract the person from the water and onto the Pier deck. The victim was not breathing, and Paramedics began resuscitation. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
