PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY — Santa Monica police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who allegedly robbed the CHASE bank branch on Fourth Street in January.
Investigators have identified the suspect as David Michael Cardwell, 46. He is described as an African American, 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighing in around 195 pounds with brown hair and eyes, SMPD Sgt. Richard Lewis said Tuesday.
The robbery occurred on Jan. 17 at around 1:25 p.m. Police officers said the suspect entered the CHASE branch located at 1333 Fourth St. and handed a teller a note demanding money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the location on foot.
