Sunday, Nov. 8, at 10 p.m.,
Santa Monica police officers responded to the 1400 block of the Third Street Promenade regarding a report of vandalism. When officers arrived, they made contact with witnesses who told them that the suspect became upset and obnoxious when he was told by employees at a local bar that they would no longer serve him alcohol. The suspect was asked to leave the business. Upon leaving, he allegedly picked up a chair and threw it at a window, resulting in several scratches. The suspect was located a short distance away. He was placed under arrest for vandalism. He was identified as Guy Falzone, 28, of Simi Valley. His bail was set at $20,000.
Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 4:20 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 1400 block of Ocean Avenue regarding a report of domestic violence. When officers arrived, they made contact with those involved and had reason to believe they were under the influence of a controlled substance — heroin. The suspects were placed under arrest for being under the influence. They were identified as Brittany Letrent, 19, of Santa Monica and Brandon Blackley, 20. Blackley was also arrested for domestic violence. His bail was set at $50,000. Letrent’s bail was set at $2,5000.
Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 8:59 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 1200 block of the Third Street Promenade — Zara — regarding a forgery. When officers arrived at the clothing store they learned that the suspect used a forged credit card to purchase $1,410.18 worth of clothing. Officers were able to locate the suspect a short distance away. Further investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of the items fraudulently purchased. Officers placed the suspect under arrest for burglary, forgery, and a probation violation. She was identified as Jaqueline White, 49, of Hawthorne. No bail was set.
Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 10:42 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 2400 block of Pico Boulevard regarding an assault that just occurred. When officers arrived, they made contact with the alleged victim who said that the suspect crossed the street and accused the victim of taking his money. The suspect then struck the victim, a female, several times in the body and back of the head. The suspect stood up behind the victim and struck her in the head with a duffel bag, police said. The force of the blow resulted in the victim falling off a bus bench. Officers were able to locate the suspect and place him under arrest for assault and battery. He was identified as Merlin Coleman, 53, a transient. His bail was set at $20,250.
Thursday, Nov. 12, at 3 p.m.,
Officers were on routine patrol in the 800 block of Cedar Street when they saw individuals that were on parole and are known drug users. Officers made contact with the suspects and conducted a parole search. One suspect allegedly had rock cocaine in his rolled up pant leg. The suspect, Jerry Simpson, 47, of Los Angeles was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and a parole violation. He was not eligible for bail.
Friday, Nov. 13, at 12:12 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 2500 block of Arizona Avenue regarding a report of a bicycle theft. When officers arrived, they made contact with the reporting party who told them that they saw the suspects riding in a car. One of the suspects jumped out of the car and clipped a bicycle lock using bolt cutters. The suspect then jumped on the bike and rode away. Officers located the suspects in the 1300 block of Yale Street in possession of the stolen bicycle. Officers also found bolt cutters in plain view in the back of the car. The suspects were placed under arrest for grand theft, conspiracy and possession of burglary tools. They were identified as Theodore Vasquez,19, and Frank Pineda, 19; both of Los Angeles. Bail was set at $20,000.
Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2:21 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 1400 block of Wilshire Boulevard — Bank of America — regarding a report of a forgery in progress. When officers arrived, they made contact with bank employees who said that a suspect attempted to pass a fraudulent check in the amount of $5,600. Officers were able to detain the suspect, who was identified as Lisa Lukas, 37, of San Bernardino. During an interview with the suspect, she told officers that another person gave her a ride to the bank and was the one who arranged the attempt to pass the bogus check, police said. Officers were able to locate the second suspect as he was driving around the area waiting for his alleged accomplice. He was identified as Esean Morris, 37, of San Bernardino. Both suspects were arrested for burglary, passing a fictitious check and conspiracy. Bail was set at $20,000.
