According to the National Weather Service, a Pacific storm system off the California coast will likely bring light rain and mountain snow to the region this afternoon through early Tuesday.
The weak storm system will move over the area early this week, with rain developing Monday afternoon into early Tuesday. Light rain amounts of less than 0.25 inch are expected across much of the area, with local accumulations up to 0.50 inch possible in upslope foothill and mountain locations. Light snow of a trace to 1 inch will be possible above around 7000 feet.

Dry with slightly below normal temperatures are forecast from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday as weak high pressure aloft builds in over the region. A stronger and colder storm system originating from the Gulf of Alaska is expected to move into the area Friday through the weekend.
