Man in possession of stolen shopping cart, disturbing the peace arrested

On July 22 at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Officers responded to the 1200 block of 3rd Street regarding a male subject screaming and disturbing the peace. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect who was observed to be screaming at people as they passed by and was also disturbing two businesses as he verbally accosted patrons. The suspect was in possession of a shopping cart and was detained without incident. The suspect was taken into custody and booked for appropriation of lost property. Eric Ekerus, 31, homeless had bail set at $500.
