On February 12, at about 6:08 p.m.
Officers responded to a radio call for service at Bloomingdales- 315 Colorado Avenue – regarding a theft suspect in custody. Officers determined a male subject entered the store carrying two large bags. The subject was monitored by the store’s Loss Prevention Staff. The subject selected two long sleeve shirts from the sale’s floor and placed them in one of the bags. The subject exited the store without paying for the merchandise. The subject was detained outside of the store by Loss Prevention Staff. Officers searched the subject and his belongings and recovered the stolen merchandise, methamphetamines and a narcotics smoking pipe.
William Michael Maez, 45, from Chicago, was arrested for shoplifting, possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, false ID to an officer and warrant. He was denied bail.
