A gang member has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison for firebombing the homes of black residents in an effort to force them out of an East Los Angeles housing complex.
Edwin Felix pleaded guilty last year to four felonies including violating the civil rights of the families affected. KNBC-TV reports the 27-year-old was sentenced on Monday.
Earlier this month Jose Saucedo got nine years behind bars for planning and carrying out the attacks. Five other defendants have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing.
Prosecutors say the members of a Latino gang threw Molotov cocktails into four apartments at the Ramona Gardens housing complex in 2014.
Three units were occupied by black families, including some with children who were sleeping.
Nobody was hurt.
