On February 12, at approximately 5 p.m.
Officers responded to the area of 7th Street and Kensington Avenue regarding a “Suspicious Person” radio call. The community member who called the police stated that a man was observed jumping a wooden fence behind a neighbor’s home. The caller indicated that the man was not his neighbor and believed the actions were very suspicious.
Officers received a description of the man and responded to the area. Officers were able to locate and detain a man who matched the description of the person seen jumping the fence. The man, Reynaldo Fernandez, admitted to being the one who was jumping fences in the area. He was found to be in possession of a crowbar, which was hidden under a large trench coat. He was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Reynaldo Fernandez, 21, homeless was booked for possession of burglary tools and possession of a controlled substance. Fernandez was held on $1,000 bail.
