“Lost” may have ended in May, but fans will have one more chance to go back to the island with a live auction of more than 1,000 props, costumes and set pieces to be held Aug. 21 and 22 in Santa Monica Airport’s Barker Hangar.
Profiles in History, a company that specializes in dealing and selling historical and Hollywood memorabilia, announced last week it would host the auction, as well as an exhibit and DVD preview, in partnership with ABC Studios.
In addition to the auction, large set pieces, such as chunks of the wreckage of Oceanic flight 815, will be displayed. Bonus features from the season six DVD and Blu-ray, set to be released Aug. 24, will be previewed, including the short epilogue, “The New Man in Charge,” that shows a glimpse of events on the island where the series left off and promises to answer a couple remaining fan questions.
The auction is open to the public, and anyone wishing to bid must register online at profilesinhistory.com or liveauctioneers.com. Those who cannot attend the auction in person but want their own piece of “Lost” history will be able to bid via mail, phone, fax or the Internet.
Tickets to see the exhibit and DVD extras will be available in early August through razorgator.com.
The exhibit will open at 9 a.m. each day with worldwide bidding beginning at 1 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on both days.
