On June 30 at about 8:18 p.m.
Officers were on routine patrol in the area of the 200 block of Bicknell Ave. when they observed the suspect riding his bicycle on the sidewalk in violation of the municipal code. Upon contact, the suspect informed the officer he was on parole and a gang member. The officer conducted a search and located a methamphetamine pipe in his waistband. The officer inquired if he had any narcotics in his possession. The suspect admitted to having methamphetamine in his pants pocket. Kory Lamar Word, 31, from Van Nuys, was cited for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Bicycle Riding on the Sidewalk.
