Crime Watch

On Tuesday, September 28, at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Officers responded to a radio call of a “Battery Just Occurred” at Santa Monica Beach Restroom #17. The comments of the call indicated a victim had been beaten and robbed. The victim relayed that while sitting on a cement wall he was approved by two suspects who demanded his property. While attempting to run from the suspects, the victim fell to the ground. At this time, the suspects began to kick the victim while removing his backpack and items from his pockets. The victim was able to regain his footing and ran towards a local hotel. Once inside, the victim called 9-1-1 and requested PD assistance. During the officer’s interview with the victim, the victim noticed one of the suspects in the robbery riding a bike with his belongings in hand. Officers detained the subject and recovered the victim’s stolen property. Brent Lacy, a 33 year old male from Harbor City, was arrested for robbery and transported to the Santa Monica Jail. The second suspect remains outstanding.
