Crime Watch

Officers responded to a radio call of “Theft Now” at approximately 9:30 p.m. near the 200 block of Wilshire Blvd. Dispatch relayed to the responding officers that a male subject was accused of stealing a bottle of alcohol and was being held down by the security guard at the location. Upon arrival, officers gathered witness statements that indicated that Anthony Morton, DOB 1/20/1994 had removed a bottle of wine from a display shelf and exited the restaurant without paying. The security guard confronted the subject and attempted to grab the bottle of wine causing it to shatter on the ground when dropped. Anthony Morton was ultimately charged with shoplifting and transported to the Santa Monica jail where he was issued a citation.
