Crime Watch

On Spetember 25 at 1:15 p.m.
Downtown officers responded to a report of a fight between two individuals near the 200 block of Pico Blvd. Upon arrival officers spoke with several witnesses and determined the argument stemmed from the belief that the subject of the investigation, Melvin Scott, had been seen rummaging through the victims parked, but unlocked vehicled. While no items were missing, the victim was desirous of prosecution for Vehicle Tampering and signed a private persons arrest. While placing Scott under arrest, he complained of body pain and the Santa Monica Fire Department was called to the scene to evaluate Scott. Scott was ultimately transported to the Santa Monica Jail and issued a citation with a notice to appear in court on November 8, 2021.
