On August 8 at approximately 2:30 p.m.
SMPD officers were dispatched to Lot 5 South located near the 2800 block of Barnard Way. The reporting party stated that she parked her electric vehicle at a charging station and after connecting the charger she walked towards the beach. She then received an alert on the cell phone that the charging port had been disconnected. Utilizing the features on her car, she was able to view video of the accused removing the charging port. She confronted the suspect, later identified as Robert S. Galvan , a 35 year old male. He stated that the car she claimed as hers actually belonged to him as "it spoke" his name to him while he walked by. Galvan was issued a citation with a court date for tampering with a motor vehicle.
