Cops catch theft suspects

The Santa Monica Police Department responded to a call for theft in progress at about 10:42 a.m. on Tuesday. Residents said two men were attempting to cut locks off storage units in the 1900 block of 6th street and one caller provided a license plate for the suspects’ vehicle. Officers determined the car was listed as stolen out of Los Angeles and stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Olympic and 4th street. Two individuals were detained pending results of the investigation.
