Thursday, July 15, at 3 a.m.,
Santa Monica police officers responded to the 1800 block of Oak Street regarding a suspicious circumstance. Upon arrival, officers talked to the alleged victim who stated he and a co-worker went out to a bar in Los Angeles. The co-worker, a female, allegedly became intoxicated. The co-worker took the female back to his residence where her car was parked. The female and male both called the female’s boyfriend to advise her where she was and the direction to pick her up. The boyfriend arrived and there was no answer to the female’s phone or answer at the door. The boyfriend entered the residence and found the co-workers asleep in the same bed, police said. The boyfriend struck the male co-worker several times and fled the location. Officers located the suspect a short distance away. The suspect, Christopher Brown, 25, of Valley Village was arrested for burglary and battery. His bail was set at $50,000.
Saturday, July 17, at 11 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 1500 block of Pacific Coast Highway regarding two suspects who allegedly refused to pay their bill at Rusty’s restaurant and bar on the Santa Monica Pier. When officers arrived, they made contact with a waitress who told them that four customers ordered 12 vodka sweet-and-sour drinks and then left the restaurant without paying the bill. Another employee followed the suspects and saw that they were getting into a car and were about to leave the pier. Officers located the car and conducted a traffic stop. There were two suspects inside the car and they were placed under arrest for defrauding an innkeeper. They were identified as Rayia Cunningham, 33, of Colton and Jamie Cunningham, 30, of West Hills. Rayia Cunningham’s bail was set at $500. Jaime Cunningham was also booked for a probation/parole violation and he was not eligible for bail.
Saturday, July 17, at 10:36 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard (Mobil Gas) regarding a female being belligerent and thrashing around. Upon arrival, officers observed the female was non-responsive and was transported to a local hospital. Officers talked to an individual that was with the female. The subject had signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance, police said. Officers believed he was under the influence of opiates and PCP. The suspect, Richard Rivera, 52, of Industry was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and a probation violation. His bail was set at $10,000.
Saturday, July 17, at 12:48 a.m.,
Officers were on routine patrol in the 3200 block of Wilshire Boulevard when they observed a vehicle traveling with a flat tire. Smoke was emitting from the area of the flat tire. Officers conducted a traffic stop at Wilshire Boulevard and Westgate Avenue in west Los Angeles. During the traffic stop, officers saw symptoms that led them to believe that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Officers had the driver perform a series of balance and coordination tests. Officers believed the suspect was drunk and placed him under arrest for DUI. The suspect was identified as Mandeep Dhillon, 38, of Hide Pointe. His bail was set at $15,000.

Officers responded to the 2000 block of Cloverfield Boulevard regarding a domestic violence call. Upon arrival, the alleged victim stated she has been in an abusive relationship with the suspect. The victim said she attempted to leave and a physical confrontation occurred. Due to the comments by the victim and suspect about previous altercations (suspect broke victim’s ribs about two months ago) officers arrested the suspect, Brandon Margulies, 33, of Santa Monica, for domestic violence, kidnapping and false imprisonment. His bail was set at $100,000.
Friday, July 16, at 3:59 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 1200 block of Fourth Street regarding a robbery that just occurred. When officers arrived, they made contact with the alleged victim who said that he was with a friend when he observed the suspect yelling at no one in particular. The suspect approached him and tried to grab his bicycle. The suspect and victim were in a tug-o-war when the suspect allegedly hit the victim’s wrist causing a small laceration. The suspect let go of the bike and started to walk away. The suspect came back and attempted again to grab the bike, police said. Unsuccessful, the suspect walked away. Officers located the suspect a short distance away. The suspect, Rodrick Moore, a transient, was arrested for attempted robbery and probation violation. His bail was set at $50,000.
Monday, July 12, at 4:10 a.m.,
Officers responded to the 1900 block of Alley 13 regarding a subject down. Upon arrival, officers observed a subject lying down on the west side of the alley who appeared to be asleep. Officers recognized him as a local resident in the area. Officers checked on his well-being and offered him a ride home. Prior to placing him in the rear of the vehicle, officers started to check him for weapons. The subject stated he was in possession of a friend’s codeine, police said. The subject was also in possession of a hydrocodone prescription that belonged to another individual, police said. Officers arrested the suspect, identified as Martin Salina,18, of Santa Monica for possession of a controlled substance. His bail was set at $10,000.
